A few backward steps for Emmie

So Emmie went for her re-scope for her ulcers last week, and unfortunately the results were not quite what we had hoped!

When she was originally scoped, she had mainly low grade squamous ulcers with a slightly worse glandular ulcer. From my research, the squamous ulcers are most common, accounting for around 80% of diagnosed gastric ulcers.
So the treatment was mainly trying to hit the glandular ulcer, with that being the more severe. While the main ulcer was starting to heal, she's unfortunately gained another glandular ulcer in the past month. That's really not what we wanted!

So she's back up to the full amount of medication (she'd been dropped down to half, as is the usual course for the medication after a month), back up to the double dose of Acid Ease, and I've also started her on an Aloe Vera supplement called Aloeride. If I don't see any behavioural changes within a couple of weeks, the vet has another drug up her sleeve to try.

So it's not ideal, but we're hopefully on track! I'm hoping to get her out to do some dressage in the next few weeks. She's going to be scoped again in a month to see how we're getting on. Hopefully I'll have a slightly more positive update for you soon!
