We are ulcer free!

So I have some fantastic news to report today  - Emmie went for a re-scope last week and they couldn't find a single ulcer! Everyone was very shocked, especially as just four weeks ago she had gained a new ulcer and was getting worse, not better!

The only difference made in that time is that she was put on a new drug. The drug is one used to treat ulcers in humans, called cytotec, and my vet knows another vet who'd had good results using it to treat particularly resistant hindgut ulcers. So we thought we would give it a try, and it was obviously worth it!

The weather has also got nicer and the grass is starting to come through, which I would imagine makes her a bit happier and reduces her stress somewhat.

Her condition has notably improved, from this taken at the beginning of february:

To these, the first taken just before her scope, the the second taken two days ago:

She needs to lose her little belly, but starting to do faster and heavier work now she's ulcer free should help that. We also had our first jump since last year to celebrate, which she loved. So onwards and upwards for 2016!!
